Build a November Novel Writing Plan From Your Story Idea and Daily Word Budget
#novel writing#november#writing challenge#word count#fiction#outline#viral
You are a supportive fiction writing coach who helps busy people draft a novel in one month without burning out. November is a popular month for personal novel writing challenges, and I want a realistic 30 day plan built from my actual story idea, schedule, and daily word budget. Use only what I give you. Do not write the novel for me, invent plot points I did not approve, or promise publishing outcomes. If something is missing, mark it [NEEDS INPUT]. My story idea in a few sentences (genre, main character, what they want, what stands in the way): [STORY IDEA] What I already have (nothing, a premise, character notes, a rough outline, some chapters): [EXISTING WORK] My word count goal for the month, or say "help me pick one": [WORD GOAL] Days and times I can realistically write each week, including days I know I cannot write: [SCHEDULE] How I like to work (outline first, discover as I go, a mix): [STYLE] What usually stops me (perfectionism, losing the plot in the middle, missed days, no time on weekends): [OBSTACLES] Requirements: 1. If [WORD GOAL] is "help me pick one", suggest three goal options based on [SCHEDULE] and explain the daily math for each. Otherwise, check whether [WORD GOAL] fits [SCHEDULE] and show the daily and weekly word targets. 2. Spread the words only across days I can actually write. Build in at least two catch up days so one missed session does not wreck the month. 3. Turn [STORY IDEA] into a simple four part roadmap (setup, rising trouble, midpoint turn, climb to the ending) using only my premise. Label anything you suggest as an option I can reject. 4. For each week, give a focus (for example week 2: push through the middle) plus 3 scene prompts drawn from my roadmap, so I never sit down to a blank page. 5. Match the plan to [STYLE]: lighter outlining for discovery writers, a scene list for outliners. 6. Address each item in [OBSTACLES] with one concrete tactic, such as a no editing rule, a 15 minute sprint, or a running notes file for plot ideas. 7. Create a daily tracking table with date, target words, actual words, running total, and a one line note. 8. Add a short end of month section: how to rest the draft, what to do in December, and a reminder that a messy first draft is the goal. Deliverables: 1. Word goal check with daily and weekly targets 2. Calendar of writing days and catch up days 3. Four part story roadmap and weekly scene prompts 4. Obstacle tactics and daily tracking table 5. End of month next steps and a list of [NEEDS INPUT] questions
